What does Limited Registration and Full Registration mean?

There are two types of registration through the AKC.

Limited registration simply means that no offspring from that particular dog can be registered with the AKC.  Limited registration is what most “companion or pet” dogs are sold with and typically the breeder requires the dog to be spayed or neutered.

Full registration allows any and/or all offspring of a particular dog to be registered with the AKC. Full registration is also required to compete in AKC sanctioned dog shows.
